This Morning
Phillip and Holly commemorate The Speakmans and their work on the show curing people over the years, with updates from the people they have cured and given their lives back to. They talk about Stephen Day, who suffered for ten years and tried to take his own life three times, after being told he could only manage his symptoms. One of the interviewers says, “Over the years, I haven’t seen a case that you haven’t helped profoundly”. He goes on to highlight how the results are so remarkable that people find them hard to believe.
The Alan Titchmarsh Show
The Speakmans join Alan and discuss the psychology of weight loss. Nik & Eva demonstrate their therapy with a group of people who have food cravings and addictions. Katie drank two large bottles of coca cola and yet after working with Nik & Eva became repulsed by it. Gill said that her previous vice food chocolate now smelled of fish and she could no longer eat it. Two weeks later Katie confirmed that she had now totally stopped drinking coca cola and Naomi had also given up her chocolate addiction.
Saturday Night Takeaway
Nik and Eva help surprise Dianne, by helping her daughter Katie overcome her fear of flying. Katie’s fear has prevented her from having a family holiday abroad for 20 years. After Nik and Eva worked with her, Katie not only overcame her fear, but she actually flew a plane!
Lorraine
Nik & Eva meet Lorraine, who acknowledges them as pioneers in mental health. The Speakmans talk about the importance of seeking help if you are struggling with anxiety. They then mention some of the tips they will be sharing during the shows they will host at the This Morning Live exhibition.
The Cure
Nik & Eva meet Hannah, who has had a fear of clowns her whole life. She now has a little boy Cameron and she can’t face the thought of going to kid’s parties, or Cameron missing out. Hannah, clearly already distressed, enters the ‘Panic Room’ and just simply breaks down. Can Nik & Eva cure her?
Loose Women
Interviewed by the Loose Women panel, Nik and Eva talk about their new live show, ‘An Evening With The Speakmans’, and also reference some of the people with phobias that they have helped on television. They also talk about some of the strangest phobias they have worked with, such as the phobia of gravity disappearing.
Eén Vandaag
The Dutch news channel spotlights The Speakmans’ ‘Visual Schema Displacement Therapy’®, which has been scientifically studied by the universities in The Netherlands, helping patients with trauma. They interview Nik & Eva and ask them how their therapy was developed. They explain that not being from a pure science background, they were not themselves bound by the limitations others had been taught.
Weekend
The Speakmans talk about their new show having the biggest feedback in ITV history, and how their show has raised awareness for anxiety disorders. The interviewer talks about Nik and Eva’s book, and the life challenges they both faced. The Speakmans reassure the audience and the viewers that there is hope, and everyone can overcome anxiety disorders such as phobias and OCDs.
Sharon Osbourne
Sharon Osbourne interviews Nik & Eva about their new show and the various phobias they worked with, including celebrity Scott Wright. Scott talks about the issues with food which Nik & Eva helped him with, and also about his lack of direction and commitment phobia. Since The Speakmans worked with him, he made a commitment to his girlfriend and he also secured some acting and presenting jobs.
This Morning
In 2018, The Speakmans worked with a long list of people desperate for their help. They’ve helped people overcome fears, phobias and deep rooted traumas. They worked with celebrities like Connor Ball, the bassist from the pop phenomenon ‘The Vamps’. They cured Paul McCartney’s step mum Angie of her 83 year phobia of water. They helped Bruce overcome his 25 year Claustrophobia and Luisa overcome her fear of sand, which allowed her to keep her dream job.
Little People UK
Dwarfism is a condition that affects around 25,000 people in the UK. Star Wars actor Warwick Davies explains, “most people with dwarfism would admit they have some anxiety or lack of self confidence in certain areas of their lives.” Nik & Eva work with Hector and Caris for their confidence and anxiety and help them speak out at conferences. Caris went on to say the session changed her life and her confidence has soared, with Hector now saying he can now speak to a group of people without shaking or feeling nervous. The presenters said, “The Speakmans have worked their magic once again!”
Surprise Surprise
Highly decorated soldier Gary is frightened of nothing, with the exception of rollercoasters. Nik & Eva help Gary overcome his phobia using their therapy, together with gradual exposure. They then help Gary surprise his girlfriend Milly by having him strategically sat on a rollercoaster waiting to surprise her. The rollercoaster sets off, Gary is unafraid, and enjoys the ride. Success - Gary is cured!
Big Brother
The interviewer asks Nik & Eva how they cure phobias, and asks about strange phobias they have encountered. They talk about some of the big brother house mates having various phobias including: sharks (selachophobia), sand (eremikophobia), frogs (ranidophobia) and toads (batrachophobia). They then help one of the house mates, Ben, who suffers with a spider phobia (arachnophobia). After The Speakmans’ therapy, Ben is cured and he can even hold a tarantula!
This Morning
The presenters interview Eva about her journey battling perimenopause, where she discloses that she hit a personal all-time low. Alongside her husband Nik, Eva talks about the emotional struggles she felt, and how she managed to get her menopausal symptoms under control.
This Morning
Nik & Eva join Joel and Holly to talk about their experience whilst being fugitives on Channel 4’s Celebrity Hunted season 5. They, along with eight other celebrities escaped from prison and then had to evade capture for 14 days with nothing but the prison clothes they were wearing. They were being hunted down by an elite team of hunters armed with the powers of the state.
